Im trying the new feats but I noticed that none of the feats gain any bonus from your spellcasting ability, just your proficiency, is this intended? is this a bug? i know it doesnt say in the description that the spellcasting ability for the spells is the same as the score you choose to increase but it just doesn't make sence on why would it work that way
In the physical book that some content creators have, all of the Magic School Adept feats from AU up Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma by 1(which you choose 1 of).
So yes, it's a bug as per using paying customers as the QA department, as it was before the buyout, & shall be.

The feats do increase a chosen ability score by 1, in both the physical and digital versions. That part also works correctly in D&D Beyond's character builder. That's not the bug being described in this thread.
The issue is that the spells that the "adept" feats grant as always-prepared are not incorporating the character's spellcasting ability modifier into their save DCs and attack bonuses, which is definitely incorrect. It's possible this is something they can't actually fully support right now, since the way the feats are written these technically don't use the ability score increased by the feat, but the character's existing spellcasting ability from their Spellcasting feature, which is not a way any prior feats worked and might not be supported. (In the vast majority of cases these are likely to be the same ability, but it may get weird with multiclass characters).
Worth pointing out that the physical book has been available in stores for a bit now. You don't have to be a "content creator" to have it.
