Ok so I have been creating a few higher level NPCs to be mentors to my current group. One of these is an arcane trickster. I gave him the short sword of warding and a few nice daggers to throw. the short sword says green flame blade cantrip with rogue in parentheses in the description. And I figured ok an additional 1d8 with and additional 1d8+4 hitting the enemies buddy if one is there, great. I read that rogue tag as meaning this ability will only work for rogues when they use the sword. I equip it on this NPC though and it adds the green flame blade damage to all of his daggers as well.
So I am asking is this a bug or when it said rogue next to the description of green flame blade, did it mean that a rogue who equipped it would have that effect on all his weapons?
Shortsword of Warning has nothing to do with the cantrip Green-flame blade, except that the sword can be used for the melee attack described by the cantrip.
If it is a homebrew weapon (you wrote Short Sword of Warding), then you should ask the author of the homebrew.
