I'm working on a multiclass character, a fighter sorcerer, but it won't let me select any spells higher than level 2 and it's missing several spells like lightning lure. Does anyone have a solution or is dealing with the same bug?
I'm guessing you are a 3/4 level sorcerer. And if you are an eldritch knight fighter, less than 9 levels in that.
You can only select spells of a level that it has slots for acording to its class progression chart. Multiclassing can effect the level of your spell slots, but not the level of the spells you can learn.
Well, it's more of a "plan" character. I copied one character (level 2 fighter) and am using the copy as a template of what I want as I level up, all the way to level 20. At sorcerer level 5 (character level 10) it was supposed to allow me to pick level 3 spells, but they didn't show up in the class menu of the character creator.
I own SCAG, so I have lightning lure. It's on another character of mine as well, (an eldritch knight fighter) but it just won't appear on this character
I know, but I'm not sure if it's a bug in the site (maybe something to do with it thinking I picked eldritch knight and limiting the spell slots that way) or if even as a battle master I can only pick up to level 2 spells
There is occasionally a caching issue that causes the spell level available to not update immediately after chaging level. Refreshing the page fixes this.
Something that may be an issue either at the time or going forward, is a sorcerer can only know a number of spells equal to its sorcerer level +1, and your planned character has reached that limit in level 1 and 2 spells.
Looking at your character plan, if I may offer advice, going 11 levels fighter and 9 levels sorcerer will get you an extra attack. It will give up a metamagic, sorcery point, cantrip, level 5 spell slot, and a known spell. So it depends on whether you want to favor martial or magical arts.

What level of each class are you?
Lightning Lure is a non-free spell from SCAG, that might be the reason you are not seeing it.

(Before you ask, those ability scores were legit rolls)
I'm going for a battle master/draconic sorcerer.

I was able to fix it! Crisis averted!
Glad to hear it.
