So I wanted to create a shield similar to Captian America's shield.
Under homebrew, I found the option to add a modifier which was "Ranged Attack" My assumption is that because my shield had this modifier of a ranged attack, it would show that as an option under actions for my player when they had it equipped this was not the result though.
Am I misunderstanding how this modifier is supposed to work? Or am I missing a step? Or am I understanding this correctly, but it doesn't work yet?

The ranged attack modifier is a bonus to range attack rolls. There isn't really a way to add the action you are wanting yet, hopefully soon.
For now you will just have to pay out the rules for the attack in the item's description. And add the action to the character sheet manually.
Or just use a ranged weapon and have it give you a bonus of 2 ac when equipped. lol
