I had a player that alerted me of this as he tried to make a wizard in our campaign.  I have sense tried to make one myself.. and notice beyond cantrips it lists this

"You do not have any 1st-level spells or spells that scale to 1st level available, but you can cast lower level spells using your 1st-level spell slots.?

Is it an error or something we doing wrong.  IT lists not 1s5 and beyond spells even after we sleected them

Do you have a link to your character? As a wizard, you do have to add spells to your spellbook, and then prepare them. If you haven't done that, you won't have any spells available. For cantrips, you only have to learn them, but make sure any spells beyond that are learned and prepared so they show up in the spells section. 

Willing to bet you forgot to prepare the spells in your spellbook. Wizards require a higher level of management than other classes.
