I currently have a Fighter (7) Eldritch Knight / Wizard (4) War Mage. The problem I am running into has to deal with the character creator and its Spells Known section. The character's total caster level is 6 and my spell slots reflect this showing that I have 4 lvl 1 slots, 3 lvl 2 slots, and 3 lvl 3 slots. According to both Eldritch Knight and Wizard when learning spells I can learn spells for levels for which I have spell slots for, but for some reason the character builder will not let me add my lvl 3 spells to my known spell lists.
Your spell slots are determined by your 'multiclass' caster level. Your spells known are determined by each individual class.
This means that you can 'upcast' your lower level spells using the higher level spell slot, but you do not have the experience in either class to learn the higher level spells.
You would need to be either a level 5 Wizard or a 13 Eldritch Knight in order to learn level 3 spells.

Hello Conlawn,

You can learn more about multiclassing here.
Hmm, I see now within the wording. Thank you for your help.
