I checked his character sheet. Toll of the dead and ceremony are now gone and not apart of his cleric list.

Those spells are from XGtE. Is the character in a campaign with content sharing turned on? Is there someone in the campaign who has bought XGtE (or at least these 2 spells) on DDB? If yes to both, turn content sharing off then on again.
