I wanted to add bonus dice damage to a staff that's used by a warlock. When adding Eldritch Blast - Bonus Damage modifier to the staff, i encounter a problem. I add the CHA modifier and then dice that i wish to be bonus. But in the character sheet, it still only shows the extra CHA modifier that's added to the bonus, not the extra dice.
Example. The warlock in the party i DM for has CHA of 30 and modifier of +10. That makes her base eldritch blast damage 1d10+10. I would like that to be 2d10+20. However, when i add bonus damage as 1d10 and CHA modifier, on character sheet it only shows 1d10+20. It doesn't show the extra d10 in the notes either.
Hello OliviaNorah, I am not entirely certain if what you are trying to do will be possible using a magic item. An alternative you could consider if making a homebrew copy of Eldritch Blast and changing the damage to 2d10 per beam.
However, one thing you may wish to try is setting the modifier on the magic item not to 1d10, but to 2d10 instead.
Hi, i have attempted to add 2d10, i've attempted also to use the set damage to be 2d10, instead of bonus damage. It only seems to add the charisma bonus, not the dice.
This is something that i'm unsure, why it exists in the list of bonuses i can add then, if not to use it. I've used additional weapon damage dice successfully on many other weapons. It does seem that the only way to do it currently is to make a homebrew version of eldritch blast instead. But that defeats the purpose of adding that bonus to a staff and having it work like it would on other weapons.
At this time the Bonus Damage for Eldritch Blast modifier is built to add an ability bonus as was required by the Eldritch Invocation, it has not currently been developed to utilize the 'dice' section of the modifiers, which is used for other options in the builder. :)

I hope that helps.
I just don't think that modifier can add dice (the homebrew tools aren't good at adding damage dice to anything). Hopefully, after homebrew revamp.
