When viewing from the Manage Equipment panel in the Character Creation/ Editing view, Leather armor (basic non magical) is listed as "Leather" with a category of "Leather" where all other leather armors (Magical or Studded) are categorized as "Light Armor".
It displays as light armor in the equipment section under items and it displays as Light Armor once equipped.
