I can understand your frustration, but after too many years in the IT industry I can say that it is not so simple as them telling you what settings to apply. For one, there aren't that many manual settings these days, sometimes the most you can change is enabling javascript and cookies. And two, sometimes it is not even the browsers themselves but other software that causes the problem (e.g. antivirus software, VPNs, ad blockers). There's also the matter of frequent software updates which might prevent access to websites that previously worked just fine.
But without direct access to your system, there are too many variables to give you the answer you want. Sometimes the only solution is just to try a different browser, and nine times out of ten that works. Is it ideal? No, but it gets the job done.
This is an old thread, but recently, I had an extension that was troublesome to remove. It was a pain I won't go into detail about, but in the end I removed chrome and all related files, reinstalled and life was happy again. However, I was getting this "challenge" every time I tried to visit dndbeyond, even clicking links in the same instance I was having to complete the challenge. Every. single. time... It was annoying. I deleted the site data for dndbeyond, visited again, completed the challenge and it hasn't asked me since. Evidently something wasn't getting updated properly or was corrupt in the site data, causing the issue to recur. Now it is working and not challenging me incessantly. Hope this helps.
This is working today. I have no idea if this is the reason, or something on dndbeyond's end decided I was OK (maybe after 50 challenges??) but the last thing I did was clear my dndbeyond data Privacy and security -> Site settings -> View Permissions and data store across sites -> dndbeyond -> dndbeyond -> Delete Data. I also set Intrusive ads to Allow. I then went to the site, got the challenge, but it never came up again, even after hours of not using it. I also turned Intrusive Ads back to Block, to see if that would cause the issue, but it didn't, so without confirmation from someone on the server side - the world may never know... Good luck if you come across this!

It cleared up. No changes on my end.
Get off my lawn or roll for initiative!
I've been getting this now too... however only with Chrome on my desktop PC (and I think also on my lappy) but not with Edge.
It's PerimeterX... it's also flagging the Verify a Human on other websites too (Alaska Airlines, Walmart, and a bunch of others).

Evidently this solution was only temporary... It is back.
