I'm looking for information on how rights to content shared via the Homebrew tools are handled. In particular, with a lot of folks using Beyond as a core part of how they game, it'd be nice (as a content producer) to freely share races/classes/etc. here. Or at the very least use them privately to run my own games! :) I'd just like to review the legalise around the rights to IP (that I own) posted here. Thanks!
I read through all of that, actually. Unfortunately, although the first link does reference D&D Beyond, and in some cases the terms could cover it as written, it does not seem to include any information specific to the D&D Beyond service. Rather it covers discussion forums, quizzes, and promotions. There is also some wording that covers wikis.
Is the Homebrew content section considered a Discussion Forum, a Wiki, or something different? I don't see this defined in that section. Also, I don't see anything that differentiates between publicly posted content and privately posted content.
D&D Beyond is a part of Fandom, the information provided at those links is accurate and applies to content on D&D Beyond. :)
Content you do not publish/share to the community is not public, and is not affected by either our Homebrew Rules & Guidelines, or the Community Creation Policy. For example, you can recreate official content using our homebrew tools for your private use, but you are breaking the Homebrew Rules & Guidelines and the Community Creation Policy if you publish that same content to the community.
Our Support and forums teams are not legal experts. If you want full assurances please consult our these policies and your attorney.
Thanks! I appreciate it. And FWIW I actually talked to an attorney. I was just seeing if perhaps there is additional legal content I was not aware of. Apparently not! I reached out to Fandom directly for more information.
Thanks!

Hello there! You can find that information in our Terms of Use, and Community Creation Policy.
