I had a quick question/comment. Google recently came out with a feature in chrome that can read web pages aloud. I just tried to do that to hopefully make my reading Storm King's Thunder a little easier at night. By turning it into an audio book.
It did not seem to work. My understanding from briefly looking into it seems to imply that it's been disabled on the website end. Is there any reason this feature has been disabled?
Hello! Google assistant is able to read D&D Beyond pages on my end. I had to take a few steps from not having the settings enabled to having the assistant reading a page to me (for example, I had it read the "Elf" race page to me)
1. I went into my Google Assistant settings for my device and allowed Screen Context. 2. I cleared the cache of the Google app, and my web browser app (Google Chrome) 3. I restarted my phone.
Once my phone restarted, Google Assistant was able to read the page to me. Hope that helps!
It seems to be very hit or miss, with a low accuracy so to speak. Race and class pages work in d&d beyond, background doesn't, but source and adventure books completely don't.
Hi again Tavi. The Google assistant app tries to open the page within it's own in-app browser, where you are not logged in, which prevents you from accessing your purchased content to be read to you. D&D Beyond would not be able to alter how the Google assistant app opens the page.

Thank you for the response, Tavi! I see what you mean. I will pass this feedback along to the team.
Thank you.

I see. That makes sense. It's unfortunate but at least I know why it wasn't working. Thank you for looking into it.
