Sorry but I’ve searched all over and can’t find any documentation on this. I’ve added a couple custom actions (trying to bypass the unfortunate limitation of not being able to modify Homebrew weapons Damage dice) and they aren’t showing up in my action list. They only show up in the sidebar when I click “manage custom”. Thanks for any help!
Found it! It’s the “activation type” pull-down and “display as attack” check box.
A little weird that one of these is basically required or it doesn’t show up anywhere. Maybe it should at least default to “other” when you create a new one.
They should still show up in the text section of the actions: on this character, for example, you can see the custom race has a bite attack and a tail attack. The Bite attack appears in the table of attack actions, and also has a text entry below. The Tail Attack does not (because I've got the +1 Tail Blade instead) but it does have a text block. So you should be able to see them down there regardless.

Thanks for the help and example. But I have done more tests and I can't get them to show at all unless I assign something in the "activation type" pull-down.
I see on that character that Tail Attack shows up in Action and Bonus Actions. I would guess those are 2 different custom actions... one assigned to Action and one assigned to Bonus Action?
Yes, it does have to have an activation type so it knows whether to put it as an action or a bonus action. Sorry about that, I misread your initial query because I set those up in the homebrew for the race and subclass, so they're not custom actions created from the character sheet, so I can't edit them in the character sheet.

Ok, good to know. I haven’t played around with custom classes but it’s cool you can add stuff there as well.
