I created a Warlock Human (alternate). As my feat, I chose Spell Sniper, which lets me choose a cantrip. I chose Eldritch Blast. The problem is that it doesn't appear on my "spells known" list, so the system does not generate it as an attack line and it doesn't show up as a spell on the exported pdf. Wouldn't it be simpler to just add a spell granted by a feat to the character's spell list?
I'm definitely thinking this is a bug, because when adding the Eldritch Invocation called Fiendish Vigor to my Warlock, it correctly added the False Life spell to my Warlock spell listing. Which means they have the code to insert spells granted by something other than spell level into the spell listing. Now they just have to do that for the Spell Sniper feat. People on the forums seem to think (hope) this will come with the revamp of the character sheet that is due sometime (soon?). Crossing my fingers.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
I am having the same issue with Spell Sniper so I went out to check Magic Initiate and it seems to suffer from the same issue. So as the title of this thread suggests, any spells you get from feats don't show up as spells. So hopefully this will be fixed with the character sheet update. I'll keep my finger's crossed as well.
If I choose Spell Sniper, and Eldritch Blast as the attack cantrip, it doesn’t show up on the sheet in the ‘Attacks’ area, so none of the effects of the Feat - or my invocations - show up. Is there something in the rules that disallows the Feat attack cantrip from being used this way?
Im not using any feats for spells on my Cleric (lvl 2 light domain). Guiding bolt shows up in my attack spells, however, burning hands and Sacred Flame do not show up. So I don't know if this is limited to spells added by feats.

Hi Beelzebubba, I have just tested this and it appears in the 'Attacks' area for me. As a feat, it is listed separately under 'Other Spell Attacks'. If you have other spell attacks already, you may need to scroll down to see it. This is likely to change and be easier to find when the new character sheets are released soon™. If you're still unable to see it, please reply again with a link to your character. (Only staff and moderators will be able to access it.)

Hi TheWyvernSpirit,
This happens because Burning Hands and Sacred Flame are not attack spells. Rather than attack an enemy, they cause an enemy to make a saving throw - something very different in D&D mechanics (for example, they aren't affected by the Spell Sniper feat which is purely for actual 'spell attacks'). However, what you can do is go to your spells, expand the spell you want to display as an attack for convenience, click 'Customise', and tick 'Display as attack'.
I recently ran into the issue with my bard where the 6th level Lore bard ability wont allow me to choose the 2 spells, or am I missing something?
Possibly - spellcaster class features outside the normal selection are chosen from the Class/Manage Levels screen in the character builder, as opposed to the character sheet. If you look there, the Additional Magical Secrets feature should have a dropdown menus for each of the two new spells you can choose.

I hope this helps!
For my Wizard with the Spell Sniper choice of Chill Touch, it shows in the Feats section but not in the Attack section. It also doesn't show up in my spellbook, nor does it allow me to add it to my spellbook -- thus I cannot customize it and add it as an attack.
I have the same problem. Wizard with spell sniper. The spell I picked cannot be added to the list of cantrips. Glad I found this thread, I will be following closely.

Yeah, I was being precise. I know things show up in the 'Other Attacks' area, but they don't show up the same way, with the same information, in a way that's actually usable at the table.
So, for example: for Eldritch Blast displays in 'Attacks' like this:
But, when it shows up in that 'Other Attacks' area:
It doesn't show the bonus to hit, or damage, or which ability it's keyed to. Much of it is not relevant now. It's 3 paragraphs of text, and I basically have to, from memory, reconstruct the actual stats of this Attack. So, my Pact Boon information isn't showing up, the doubling of the range doesn't show up, and (depending on if it's keyed off of my primary stat or not) it doesn't even have the 'To Hit' bonus.
It does me no good in actual play. I have to create a 'Custom Attack' to put the right information where I can see it (next to the other 'Attacks') and maintain that as my other stats change. This is even harder for my 'new to D&D' players. I've had to go in to their characters myself to make 'Custom Attacks' for them.
So, sorry, the idea that this thing being sequestered under another heading 'appears' is disingenuous. It's basically useless in play.

Why is this not happening?

Dang, I thought I looked there. See kids, this is what happens when you play DnD on 4/20. Thanks for the info :)
