I am using a Samsung Galaxy a12 running Android 11, and the app opens, does the loading indicator, then freezes for 10 seconds before crashing back to the home screen. I remember something like this happened back with the reader app before the apps merged.
Edit: The issue began with the most recent patch, the patch notes only say "bug fixes"

Same here on my Samsung S8.
Issue appears to have been resolved in another update
Same issue happening on iPhone 17pro since last update.
