Basically what the title says; if a snippet includes tooltip tags (square brackets), on the D&D Beyond website these are processed and currently stripped out, but on the DDB Player app they aren't for snippet popovers (details when you tap an action, spell etc.).
I tend to include tooltip tags in snippet boxes for Homebrew because some of the official content does this as well (though I can't find an example quickly right now), in case D&D Beyond eventually adds tooltip support to snippets in future.
Anyway, the quick fix is to strip out tooltip tags in the DDB Player app's popovers in the same that they are stripped out on the website (and seem to be on the sheet itself), as this will at least make it consistent with the site and avoid ugly square bracket tags all over the place.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
