The spells on monsters need to be linked to the spell descriptions. Preferably in a manner that will expand so the monster can be printed with the spell description included, but failing that they need to link to the spell page.
This is a great idea. That would be very helpful, there is nothing worse, as a DM, than slowing things down flipping through the PHB looking at spells for an NPC/Monster.
That is probably my biggest complaint about 5e. Running monsters that are primarily spellcasters is very challenging for new DMs. Lengthy spell lists, especially ones that don't show which spells are concentration, can be overwhelming.
Digital tools like dndbeyond.com have the ability to package all that info in a better fashion to lower the barrier to DM entry, and they should embrace that. I'd even like to see a "Common Tactics" sidebar for complicated monsters to help out the novice DMs.
If this tool does nothing else, can it PLEASE make all spell references hyperlinks. 5e has so much cross-referencing, in everything from spell lists to the index, so if this can be addressed with this resource, it would save us a ton of work.
When a module or a treasure table tells you that an Oil of Slipperiness is found in a room, you page through the DMG to find out what it does. Then it says it can imitate a Freedom of Movement spell or a Grease spell. So now we're off to the PHB to find out what they do. If all of those were links, the time saved would be well worth the price of admission.
It seems like a no-brainer. Currently, we have Apps that can do just this already. It's ironic how many of us use GM 5 Ap and find ourselves on day one here thinking how good we have it with that Ap.
I agree with cross linking everything, not just spells. For example, a figuring of wondrous power should link to the stats for the creature it turns into. Familiars should link to the stats of the creature. Magic items should link to the spells that they duplicate. Etc..

This is a great start, but it can be much better!
Completely agree. Anything that exists in the compendium should be linked together if it's referenced.

+1. Came here to say exactly this.

Agreed. Some spells make reference to others, too. The Arcane Lock spell makes reference to the Knock spell, for example.

100% needs to be a feature. What trwolfe13 mentioned about spells referencing each other would be super helpful, as well.
Completely agree. Same for magical items.
Yes, 100%. There needs to be more cross-linking across the platform. It's current format is essentially a wiki, so why not go full wiki?
