Homebrew Nonmagical Equipment and Items

Has there been any update on the implementation of homebrew for mundane equipment and items (ex. fullblades, scythes, guisarmes, various firearm types, etc.)? This is a feature that is among the most voted on the voting forum and has been for years now and has been requested since the inception of DNDBeyond and homebrewing options. 

This feels a bit necessary at this point. We have so many adventure modules and sourcebooks now, both first-party and third, and some of the items and options are entirely blocked because of the lack of this system.

It would be much appreciated if anyone from the DDB team can get back to the community on this matter. It seems to be ignored whenever anyone asks in more recent times.
