THIS! I'm a traveling DM and purchased all of this content digitally so I wouldn't have to lug massive amounts of books with me.....and now I can't find the things I need. I should be able to simply do a quick search for the item and get all of the info needed or at the very least have the info categorized by book so that I can find it! It's BEYOND frustrating to purchase the hard copies of all of these resources.....and then also have to buy them digitally and not even have the info I need! UGH!
Yes and by that logic why use dnd beyond at all everything we need is in the printed books. It's a convince factor like not having to flip through the inventory to add something and then going elsewhere to find the price.
Thank you for the link. I'll bookmark it so I can find it quickly. I do understand that things are probably set up like the "books" however, this is digital and a better/different way of organizing the info would be awesome.
But honestly thank you again for the link! Very helpful :)
I support this feature and not only that but there should be the ability to add items to your character in exchange for their gold. A buy option next to the add item feature which adds the item to your character sheet and auto subtracts the gold. It could even allow you to put in the price yourself if prices vary between games. ( although i would still want the PHB prices listed next to them)
Having played with this for a while, I like it that there isn't an economy tied to items when you buy / sell. Especially with magic items and such. At first when we began playing, I was of a similar mindset (coming from Hero Lab), but after playing with a DM that has small town availability and pricing different than large town pricing and availability, I have changed my mind. Not only do I not know what most of my items cost me, but we really don't know what magic items are even going to cost (and they sure aren't readily available). It is more organic than that... I can estimate that some of my items are near book price, but only once have I bought an item without trading something else in and it is rare that I buy single items of anything but rations. We negotiate pricing in as large of a batch of items as we can now because we consistently get better pricing, but we also barter in items that the merchants might be interested in. We find they can trade more for items than they can for coin. At least we don't have to appraise and detail each item with each vendor (the DM pretty well holds true to what value he tells us when we loot the item, but not all merchants want all our items), but we work in negotiated lots and this works very well with how items are handled in D&D Beyond.
I do my own pricing of items as well, but it is nice to have a quick reference to give price points in relation to other items, etc. and when I need to quickly look something up it's nice to have on the first hit....not have to go searching. I consider EVERYTHING in the books guidelines and they can obviously be changed from DM to DM; however, just like everything else, if the prices are listed in one place why not include them everywhere where that item is listed? And individual DM's can choose to disregard or change as desired.
This is merely a question of ease to use and user friendly content and site mechanics, not whether or not having the prices included is viable on a campaign to campaign basis. As, just like other stats and items, D&D does in fact have a list of prices.
As the title says.

The prices are all here, just as they are in the physical Player's Handbook.

Specific prices are not set for each item, as price (and availability) can vary in different gameworlds & settings.

This, very much this!

That would be AWESOME!
