Greetings, i'm very excited about the new virtual mechanics dnd will have, but my question is, will the virtual books ever come out in spanish? And if so, if i were to buy the books in english but then a spanish version comes out, will i be able to change the language or will i have to buy it again? I'll be waiting for your response, and thank you very much.
I don't think there's been an official answer, and it's been asked in the best, especially after WotC took direct control of D&D 5e translations in other languages.
I know the general thinking in the past would be probably not. Hosting another language on DDB is not simply cutting and pasting the translated edition over the English DDB tools and letting it at that. Responsibly, they'd have to open themselves up to customer service needs in that language, which is something prior to WotC sale DDB definitely didn't have, and there hasn't been much indication that it's staffing up in that department either. As far as whether you would be able to swtich languages after purchasing material in English, my guess is no. Even in the more generous world of free pdfs with physical purchases, I know of no game publisher that gives you that option (though I may be wrong, and to be clear I"m not a business person so I'm personally more supportive of living rules systems as One D&D seems to be leaning being available in other languages through a simple toggle).
Out of curiosity, are the One D&D playtest materials available in other languages at this time?

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
Anything can happen, WotC is a living organisation that can change their minds.
However, they tried doing alternative translations (oddly, in Italian), and...nada. they did the PHB in Italian, then stopped. They've clearly abandoned the idea because while I couldn't find a date, there is a bug thread regarding it from 3 years ago, and they've released nothing in Italian since. Seeing as it's kind of pointless to have just the PHB in Italian... it's pretty safe to assume that it's been abandoned. No other translations have been talked about, so far as I'm aware.
Again, as far as I'm aware, there's been no discussion as to why it was abandoned. It's possible that whatever issue prevented them from continuing to translate materials has been (or will be) resolved in some manner by the purchase by WotC. However, I'd assume not. The most obvious answer is that they found it wasn't profitable - and that won't have changed by DDB changing hands.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
