I'm waiting to see what their response is that they promised was coming "soon" even though it's been days. But, yes, everything about WotC's handling of this from initial idea to response has been nothing but disappointing.
Yeah life long D&D player, since 1978, thanks to this awful move by wotc I'll be out, along with all my friends and family. What a total disaster by the leadership of wotc. First the focus, art and game content quality took a nose dive into the trash, and now the entire ecosystem is being burned to the ground. It's TSR all over but somehow worse, good job wotc, good job!
I’m frustrated that I can’t unsubscribe/ delete my account for another month - A Dm just started a mini campaign on here which has another 3-4 sessions to go, and it would be unfair to F their game up right at the beginning.
Once done, I will be removing myself from here - but until then, I am reposting as much as I can about WOTC screwing over the creators and fans that made dnd what it is.
This is worse than the xbox one launch ten years ago with DRM and “always on connectivity” - no doubt some execs behind that are now working at Hasbro/ WOTC 🙄
Last month you'll see another dollar from us WOTC. Open Game License forever or we all walk. "¯\_(ツ)_/¯ " I'm afraid you underestimate the power you have in this situation.
You don't have to bother deleting your account (it is a pain in the ass and you stand to lose more than they do).
But cancel your subscriptions now. WotC is using DDB subscription cancellation as a metric to measure community backlash. You will still keep the benefits until the renewal date.
You don't have to bother deleting your account (it is a pain in the ass and you stand yo lose more than they do).
What do they care? They proclaim to never give another cent, so why have an account?
Yeah, but why throw away what you've already paid for? WotC doesn't care about accounts, they are only checking subscription cancelations (as far as we currently know).
Like I said. It is a lot of effort and you gain nothing (not even sending a message) while possibly giving back what you bought to WotC.

I'd just be surprised, by the "tone" of these people, that they'd even want to play D&D and give it any time, with how most of them sound.
Usually when someone says, "you've lost me as a customer" ... it usually means you're not going to use any of their products, eat their food, whatever the case may be.
I get it, a company can make whatever decisions they want. Not trying to motivate anyone on either side, but as I've been playing for a long time I think it's appropriate to give honest feedback when something like this happens. My group has migrated to savage worlds and other systems. I miss this being a less mainstream hobby when it was a bunch of us nerds sharing ideas. Cutting out the community defeats what made this so special. Best wishes to all, no matter what they decide.
Future marketing textbooks will cite Hasbro's recent moves as a prime example of a company alienating its customer base and forever destroying its near-monopoly position within its own industry.
Let's hope the graph-paper-brained suits at WOTC who thought D&D was "under-monetized" lose their jobs over this fiasco, and let's hope the suits who replace them learn to respect the gamers and creators who are responsible for this industry.
I am deleting my DnDBeyond account to protest against Hasbro-WotC and the OGL 1.1.
Even if they dont do it now, because of backlash, they are of a mindset to try again later.
There is no legal safety for the D&D community.
What do I need to do, to completely delete any trace of my having had an account here?
he / him
Someone posted this guide in how to do it.

I've discontinued my subscription and I really wish I had never given them a single penny.
I plan on giving my money to cottage companies that actually have integrity.

I Cancelled my Master Tier Subscription January 12th 2023 because of "OGL" 1.1 - Resubscribed 28th of Jan, now the SRD is in CC-BY-4.0
This morning the website got updated to make it harder to navigate to the cancellation button. I’m can’t find it either. >:-(
If you're sincere - literally KenMarble's post goes to a link right to it.

I think some aren't subs. Or want to show "true impact" by deleting their accounts entirely.

Put #OpenDND in the reason for canceling.

My Master tier account is pre-paid until May, but I cancelled tonight.
Deleted mine today. Will resub depending on what their decision is.
