If they pull that OGL this will be the last month you'll see another dollar from us WOTC. Open Game License forever or we all walk. "¯\_(ツ)_/¯ " I'm afraid they underestimated the power they had in the situation.

Heh. I think you mean they have -overestimated- the power they had. (We knew what you meant though.)
Thank you for letting me know! You're absolutely correct! <3

(As in I'll Correct it ofc) I appreciate you prklts!
While Hasbro makes a LOT of really cool stuff, they've already priced themselves out of my interests. Given that, I really don't see them backing down with the WOTC decisions happening. Between leaked OGL, the response to it, and the new rumored sub plans, they've already made it clear they're not here for the community or fanbase. They would much rather have the bottom line than anything else, even if they burn all the bridges to get it.
Once the damage is done, they will still blame everyone but themselves for what happens.
No. They never did. I am personally a player of their products since the ages of 2nd edition and remember the dramas around MTG "Ante" rules in the schoolyards.
The reality they fail to see. Is them "owning" them never stoped anyone from playing them.
There's many systems out there, easily adaptable to any other systems material, available a plenty everywhere.
About anyone with the patience to go through 1000s of pages of rulings to run a game can probably adapt to any system on a wim.
Most of the community, has always been running homebrew rulings and systems growing up.
Who needs WoTC and Hasbro anyway? I've been playing "their game rules", without "their products" for years.
If anything all this situation just makes peoples realise Hey! We love TTRPGs and hate one of the big wigs? Surely their must be other options!?
Good Job, again, they fail to see we "endure" them more than we support them. *Slow claps*

None are innocent, there is only those fool enough to believe they are, and those that reveals in the knowledge that they are not.
Let's not get too distracted by their comments that they reached this decision "after their survey". We were hitting them on ALL fronts with this information. They ALREADY knew everything in their survey results, and there were a LOT of us that refused to engage with it entirely. This was a decision reached independent of survey results. We all know all too well these things can be massaged and altered to suit whatever decision they make. No, it was all of us making a lot of noise online in every place we possibly could that did this. The survey was incidental.
WOTC made the right decision in the end, and it was thanks to all of us, but it isn't because we "engaged with the process". Remember that.

Are you being serious?...."Woosh" That was the whole bit Dark_Jaguar >.>
I am being very serious. They are merely saying that it was the survey. Don't be taken in. The survey isn't how they found out about us being upset. Us being upset is the only reason they bothered with their "survey" in the first place. This is an old idea that dates back to French resistance against corporations. Companies attempt to control a conversation by insisting it happen on their terms. We didn't calm down because of that survey, but the result of it is they have to pretend it was the survey that did it because it gives the illusion that WOTC is still in control of public opinion and that it all went according to SOME form of their plan.

The WOTC "survey" was trash and we're on the same page about that. We should always shoot down their advances to monopolize D&D no matter what. They merely bought this IP didn't they didn't build it into what it is now, we did! My post was to bring a laugh to our community and a lash to D&DBeyond's new sugar daddy WOTC. My "survey" was clearly in support to mock WOTC's foolishness and greed. We're on the same page on the matter, keep making your voice heard and stay vigilant of their continued threats against the community together.
some are disappointed... and all these negative emotions have effected enjoyment in game.
They really f.ed this up.
I was expecting a reach out effort , to calm thing s down, but all I see is an emense ad campaign for the movie, focused on the youtube creators of ours.
Do they really have no access to adequate PR managers?
(I canceled my Master subscription after 3 annual payments. If WotC makes luxurious amends, I will renew, otherwise, maybe the DNDBeyond devs can get my money in a side-gig of theirs?)
From what they wrote I bet they will try to remove the ogl still since the release of the 5.1 srd info.
Much of it is worded with loop hole issues from how I read it and I see them trying to kill anything before 5.1 aka older dnd.
They are also basing much of it off 3rd edition not 3.5 which to me means we won a battle but not the war.
Still no real info on what the heck is gonna happen to beyond and on if rumors are just rumors or legit they plan to raise prices. I do love dnd and have since late 80s but... that being said I really do feel like greed is going to try over and over till they get their money unless they make it clear that they can't remove the OGL 1.0a.
Even if those are safe there is no safety currently in Beyond on its subs, and what will be changed. Until I know for sure that beyond will be safe I won't come back with any sub.

We must post demands now. To show them we, the people, have the power. Not them.

This is a flawed poll because Elon is great
So glad we saw how well Elon ran Twitter before he ran Mars...

Wow. All this going on, and the big concern for some people is a few threads cluttering these forums. Because scrolling is hard.
Whoever voted "No! They'll stop before burning the company...right?!?" Hats off to you!!!!!
