If they pull that OGL this will be the last month you'll see another dollar from us WOTC. Open Game License forever or we all walk. "¯\_(ツ)_/¯ " I'm afraid they overestimated the power they had in the situation.
Yes, all the topics, every topic, 1000 more topics on this until it’s fixed.
Which, maybe by the forum rules you can do (and maybe right now, you don't even care about the forum rules) - but there's others, who don't intend to "quit D&D" because of this, who continue to use the forums, and now find it cluttered with repeated topics of the same thing. It's unfortunate that the very community that everyone claims to be impacted, is the same community impacting others.

Well, SirTawmis, For someone who claims to hate the topic so much you seem to be right there on each posting. Kinda strange.
Well, what I would love to see is a single thread.
To me, a single thread with 30 pages, seems more effective than everyone needing to start their own thread, just because they want to make sure they have their own spotlight, rather than just being "another post in a long thread."
So, to be clear, a major problem has occurred that threatens dnd as the community knows it, and everyone is rightly upset but you’re upset because you can’t micromanage a forum? Bruh.

Usually when there's an issue on the forum - a major problem - it goes into a thread. Bugs for something? Single thread. Issue with accessing characters suddenly? Single thread.
Everyone just wants to be "special" and make their own thread. It's as simple as that. Bruh.

The forum mods could set up a sticky thread then and ask everyone to post their concerns or topics related to leaving over the OGL. You however are just being salty sir. People are upset and the Feedback area seems the most logical place to put their feelings.

How's that being salty?
There's been numerous threads - on the front page - about the concerns people have shared. Why not just go into an existing thread and share thoughts? Why create a new one? Other than saying, "Look at me! I am leaving too!" Because that's all that's really happening.
Has nothing to do with being salty.
Also, this section being for D&D Beyond feedback - you'd think it'd be specific to the D&D Beyond site feedback (issues and such).
The D&D General section seems a better place to voice concerns.

The more posts the more clear it is the majority is taking a stand against it, it sucks for the time being but its either a bit of annoyance right now or a long term rot on the game as the whole.
We don't need 6th edition to pull a 4th edition and push people to other games or sticking to old content.
The OGL is a major issue that needs to be addressed, so yes it should be spread to every corner of the community so everyone knows, and they can't simply wait it out. Which is exactly what they are trying to do that's why they have said a word on the topic and even canceled a live stream today.
Don't be mad at the community voicing their concerns be mad at WoTC who is trying to destroy 3rd party creators. All they have to do is announce they will not be making any changes to the OGL and it would settle down.

Hopefully, I am not being misunderstood. I absolutely understand why people are voicing their concerns and posting. I am absolutely behind them voicing their opinions. I hope nothing I've said indicates otherwise. I guess, I'd just hoped it'd all be contained in a thread or two. Rather than 30 individual unique threads.
However, that said - I feel like I've already gone beyond beating the horse dead, from my side. Which, I regret. It was just a little frustrating coming here to look for a thread, and finding it buried beneath threads about the OGL/Deleting/Canceling. Listen, if folks want to run wild - do it. Stand on the hill, scream your fury.
In the end, I hope some form of peaceful resolution for everyone is found.
Metatalk about meta talk.... That one is droning on and on, on how some express themselves, about how the forum to express ourselves deals with the multiplicity or expressions, about how there are rules by one company on how creators express creativity, with wonderfull addons, to our game.....
(I canceled my Master subscription after 3 annual payments. If WotC makes luxurious amends, I will renew, otherwise, maybe the DNDBeyond devs can get my money in a side-gig of theirs?)

Heh. I think you mean they have -overestimated- the power they had. (We knew what you meant though.)
And the answer is: absolutely not lmao. **** me the new blog post is so tone deaf and adversarial and sarcastic. "But but but... We won too... It was just a draft despite signing contracts already with Kickstarter and not making any releases at any point..."
The sensible thing for Hasbro to do would have been to leave the existing OGL in place for table top players and all printed materials. People like me are never going to pay online subscriptions, pay microtransactions or even allow electronic dice roller apps at their (real wooden) table, so there is no point in upsetting that community or disrupting the cash stream that comes from them.... At this stage the only way you are going to rescue the situation is by surprising everybody and asking Piazo if you can join their ORC.
New Online players are going to be less resistant to microtransactions, as they are already used to being fleeced by computer games that are released half completed. If you built an online platform that hosted and accessed electronic media then you would be able to create whatever environment you wanted in that souless, repetitive and joyless virtual world under whatever terms you wanted. But by seemingly wanting to shut down table top competition you are not going to get real world roleplayers to play in a virtual world, you are just going to lose their custom entirely.

A 17 page thread about it...

And a 32 page about it...

Where people are posting in existing threads.
Doesn't seem at all unreasonable.

It's kinda been leaked that it wasn't Hasbro but it was WotC.
They have no intention of fixing this, they have called us "obstacles to their success", and they feel the need to "Win" over their customers.
I have already cancelled my sub. Nothing short of:
1. CEO Removal/ Executive restructuring of WoTC.
2. OGL Is Irrevocable AND Perpetual.
3. WoTC signs on to the ORC licence set forward by Paizo and the other Creators.
There is very little reason for any of us to support this company any further, they have no respect for you.
Don't worry in their update they said we're all winning? "They won—and so did we." so that means everything's fine now right? ~S
Now the next apology is going to be for that update calling that a "draft" too.
Canceling a sub is one thing, but what I haven't heard anyone talk about is boycotting the D&D Movie. I feel that needs to be on the table.
"You canceled your subscription on 01/14/2023."
(1) Our job is to be good stewards of the game: Wrong. We are the stewards of the game. You print books.
(2) the OGL exists for the benefit of the fans: Wrong. The OGL exists to benefit Wizards. 3rd party Creators have made your game what it is today.
