Are you smoking crack? Do you really think people won't change to pathfinder? Do you really think your brand is THAT strong? Do you think it will be strong still after Critical Role and Dimension 20 change systems? WTF are you thinking??? Do you actually think people outside of the community actually care about your movie? Do you not remember the last Dungeons and Dragons movie you made?
What the hell WotC? Do you have a drug problem you need money for or something? Do you think this will MAKE you money? BRO. PUT. THE. PIPE. DOWN. You've had too much. Stop!
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

"Confirmed by WotC sources" seems like a pretty silly thing to say without any WotC sources to confirm it.

Edit: Just so this information is on the front page, this allegation about a piece increase was confirmed to be false.
Someone on Twitter claimed this was the case, and supported it with photographs that looked suspiciously like an earlier "leak" about OneD&D that turned out to be a hoax. A TiKTok user retweeted this and claimed he "verified" it with WotC staff, while saying he could not reveal his sources and we would have to wait until Wednesday to know more. A site that has a history of bad journalism then repeated this information as if it were accurate, conveniently failing to add the disclaimers such as "we will have to wait until Wednesday to know if it was real or fake" information.
I would file this under "wait and see how things pan out on Wednesday."
I mean, or just get up and arms--I am sure the angry people will feel vindicated if it is verified on Wednesday and will continue to post it as if it were true on Thursday if Mr. TikTok's information does not pan out. I mean, the wait and see is clearly the sensible choice, but you are free to choose whatever option you wish.
Wait, what's the deal with claiming that they're not going to let people without subscriptions use homebrew. They already don't, being able to add homebrew is a benefit for subscribers.

You can create your own homebrew without a sub and it is shared with the campaign automatically. I believe this is what they are taking away.

I think you mean “I believe this is what they are alleged by sources which there are legitimate reasons to question to be taking away”. Kind of a big distinction now, isn’t it?
Considering the sources are confirmed by dndshorts, there's a lot of weight there. Also confirmed by Ginny Di.
The issue is it sounds what a leak did and used almost the same exact wording, we can't know if it's just them taking that after finding it and running with it or if it's actually real until Wednesday. Even folk that get shit right can get stuff wrong
Sadly i trust the leaks but due to that it means hasbin can claim they never planned to have it at that "rumored" price.
The suits in this company are trying to really screw over their staff, community and finances. If this happens they wont get i know at least 20 something players back counting my husband and me.
We will all just switch to pathfinder or use the old books without the ease of beyond.
I'm just going to add the Two Cents of "I don't like it, I don't WANT it, and I definitely will be taking my business elsewhere should they try it."
I really don't know what all they would be adding, should they actually TRY to make it a $30 a month sub. I still wouldn't pay that if J-Craw were coming to my table to personally DM. Given the things coming out of various spots of the community already, I don't think WOTC would be willing to risk even MORE negative PR. I really do LOVE D&DBeyond and the 5e stuff, but there is a clear point of "NOPE! They've gone too far..." and it seems like that point is coming a lot sooner than later.
The way it was described claims that the $30 tier includes "exclusive drops", so it's become pretty clear that if this is true they've decided to start trying to run DnD like a mobile game which only seems to confirm my current belief that the company is now helmed by people who don't know what a TTRPG is.
After how much they've been caught in lies and tripping over themselves with the OGL I absolutely believe they have this waiting in the wings. They've completely lost the benefit of the doubt with their recent actions.
Hmm. If $30 / monthly subscribers get "exclusive drops," then maybe normal people could have a way cheaper subscription, similar to the $5.99 / monthly some of us are paying now. (At least one could hope.)
I'm not sure why people are quick to say, "yeah, but these are leaks and rumours! You can't believe this!", when the OGL thing started with a leak, by an anonymous source at WotC.
It shouldn't really be surprising that more leaks can pop up, or that these people don't want to connect their names, since there are already stories about the NDA's that are going around the company.
I'm not sure I'm understanding the leak here... Are we talking about paying a monthly subscription of 30 $ ?! Do we only know if it's a new tier or just making an actual tier more expansive ?

Phileas Deluor, half-elf mage lvl5 - ToA Alastar Lekto, human paladin of Kelemvor lvl 3 - Homemade campaign Fizz, Kenku rogue/cleric lvl 8 - Rise of the Runelord (5e ed. homemade) Bolgo "The dentist", Human warrior, lvl 5 - Waterdeep Dragon Heist
They don't say what the "Exclusive Drops" they could release a slimmed down spell list and monsters compendium and have that first "Exclusive Drop" the Fireball spell, and the second Orcs, you didn't have the sub when they dropped oh well you lose out. Trust for WoTC is at an all time low, consider if they shut down D&D Beyond because they have their own One D&D site, you could lose access to all the books you have purchased.
Me and my group will not be paying top tier subscriptions to play one DnD. If you are planning on turning this game into Fortnight where players have to buy access to spells and weapons we are out. Pathfinder will meet our needs. This is what you will not get from me or my group anymore:
We will not be playtesting any new material that comes out which means no more feedback on the content and rules you are working on,
We will not buy anymore books and will not be playing your VTT (I honestly was looking forward to it until now),
Once our campaign is done, We will be cancelling our subscriptions and downloading our character sheets,
We will be teaching our kids (who love DnD) another gaming system,
I will be using all the 5e source books and the current adventures we own in our in person game but nothing new will be purchased. Will you be taking that content away from me when you switch to one DND?
All this is set in motion. Want to change my mind, be transparent on where you plan on taking this game. What are the sub tiers, what is the OGL going to look like?
I am a dungeon master at the master subscriber tier and I have purchased EVERYTHING on dndbeyond.com for the purposes of sharing that content with my groups. I am exactly the kind of consumer that wotc/hasbro/dndbeyond is targeting with this change.
And I am telling you, and wotc and anyone else who cares to read: that *if this goes forward* I will never buy a dnd product again.
The ONLY reason I have not canceled my current subscription is out of respect for my players who use that content for the duration of our current campaigns. If the OGL changes are implemented I will be canceling the subscription after these campaigns end and walking away from dnd/wotc for my future product needs. If this new rumor is accurate and these systems are implemented, I will immediately cancel my subscription and you (wotc) will forever lose me as a customer.
