I just wanted to say thanks for leaving the OGL 1.0a in place. I’ve reactivated my subscription again.
Also a huge thanks to the community for making their voices heard. I’m feeling a lot of relief for many creators who thought their business were about to end.
So i just linked an existing account to write here the first time. And I want to say Thank you!
I really can't believe it is January when WotC made one of the best gifts I could possibly imagine. To be sure: I am no DnD player, but the step back was important for the whole TTRPG Community. It is a great relief to know that WotC does not try to force decisions against a rightfully stubborn community. This is the first time I see any very big company actually listen regarding such an important topic. I have never tried dnd5e and my plans until March are already set, but maybe I will give this system a try later in the year.
Simply thank you very much. I still can't believe this statement is real.
I'm impressed that they listened and acted so decisively on the end result. Also, impressed with the community for expressing their frustrations and playing hardball.
A company that listens to their huge, loyal fanbase = success
We also don't know what they will do with any future editions. 5e is only getting 3 (?) more books, its run is almost over. We have no idea what the next edition's license will be. They've said nothing on the topic

Leaving OGL 1.0(a) untouched and making SRD 5.1 CC-BY-4.0 is a great first step. The next is a promise to do the same for future editions. Here's a discussion thread on that.

Let's not go far as to subscribe. Yes, we won against Hasbro's, but that doesn't mean they won't retaliate against us in some way.

DDB is great, but it could be better. Here are some things I think could improve DDB
