What is holding me back from paying for this service to continue my campaign is I can’t import any of my players’ characters because of their races and subclasses. If I am paying to DM, don't lock me out of inviting a Drow player to join.
Subscription is priced the way it is, so if they offered more stuff, they will have to charge more for it. I do not like the subscription model either, but the benefit of content sharing outweighs the cost for me. For you, if you do not like the price, then do not buy it.
Drow is only $1.99. If your players wants to play it, have them pay for it. It is literally cheaper than a cup of Morning Joe from Starbucks. Or just have them homebrew it themselves; Drow is not that hard to homebrew.
