I was doing some prep today, and it occurred to me, with a digital tool like DDB, it would really be nice if we had some customization options without having to go full on into homebrew. Some of the things that would be great if we could change on the fly. The HP, AC, Stats, and Weapon of a monster, and have everything update automatically. I suppose barring having this sort of "on the fly" customization, it would be nice if the monster page had some sort of "create a copy" option. I know I can go through the homebrew menus and use a monster as a template, but with a digital tool, that feels like a lot of hoops to jump through when all I want is for my Guards to have short swords instead of spears. Or I want to quickly beef them up by giving them more hit points, and extra point of strength, and maybe some better armor.
Homebrew has its place for things that people are truly creating from scratch, but I would really like to see some way to make small tweaks to existing creatures without the hassle of the homebrew system.

Ooh, they could make monster pages like a character sheet almost, with interactive fields.

I'm bumping this back up because I feel like it's a feature that would improve the use of the digital monster manual so much.

Understood, but at the same time, please note that bumping is forbidden in the site rules & guidelines. :)
All I can say currently is that yes, there are plans for tools that will encompass monster customization in some form.
That said, I don't know how far out we're looking or exactly what it would look like when it happens, but it should be pretty cool.
