So this account is a combination of 2 generations of DMs that are using to run a Campaign on D&D Beyond. With the Maps introduced and being updates to help with our game, This past week though me and my players discovered a large issue that we hope can be remedied regarding Character sheets, mainly availability for other players in the campaign. As the DM for Our game, I already have a ton on my plate with running the NPCs, Monsters, Environment, Map making, etc., and recently we had a player have to step down for Real Life issues so I have to manage their character since we are in the middle of their story. So this created more issues to compound the problem (Will note that their character is easy enough to play, just that is all stacks up.) What became a problem was another player had to step out for our evening game, being unwell. They were alright with another player playing their bard for the evening, the issue was, other player could see their sheet, but could not do rolls or any actions, DMs can. I wonder if there is a way for DM to Enable permissions for other players to take control of a character in cases like this. Have a option for the players to give permissions to DMs to allow another player control, and DM selecting a player to have control. It is a thought to lessen the burden on the DM so they do not have to manage "Everything" when a player is unavailable. I do have other notes on issues as well regarding other critics that would improve the Digital experience, but this one takes priority as it became so overwhelming 2 nights ago, and burned me out in just 3 hours of play.
