I like it the way it is now, but I am old with bad eyes I don't like it in the books when it is black text on a page that has coloring or something like a full page watermark as it makes it hard for me to read even with my reading glasses. When I am at home on the PC I have the light on in the room so I don't get a headache when I am on the PC for anything like gaming or otherwise.
I would like a dark theme as well, mostly because the D&D game I'm in, is in Discord, but my chara sheet is here on DDB, so every time I come from the dark Discord to DDB to look up something on my sheet I get hit with all the white. X__x
Just as an FYI to anyone reading this, if you prefer a dark theme, take a look at the Dark Reader extension for the Google Chrome browser. It converts virtually any website (including D&D Beyond) over to a dark theme. This way, it's a lot easier on the eyes when using the site at night or in dark rooms.
Hope this helps.

I don't need it right now, but a dark theme kind of seems like a no-brainer for everything digital. Because eye strain.
