Also in regards to "It's worthless to take agonizing blast on anything other than Eldritch Blast" is such a dumb hill to stand on? Like the stance of in the case of most optimal min-max capability you need/should do (x) is not the point of DnD as a whole its kind of the point of an RPG to give some agency. And if you look at some of the subclasses of warlock using agonizing blast on a different cantrip works in favor of flavor as well as for the class itself. Take Celestial warlock for example taking a cantrip with fire or radiant damage and putting agonizing blast on it would lend itself to focusing harder on the level 6 feature of adding your modifier onto spells that deal fire and/or radiant.
The whole point of this thread is the pointing out of HEY THE FEATURE IN THE GAME FOR WELL OVER 2 WHOLE YEARS is still not in the character builder and this isn't the only thing that's like that in terms of the content the character builder itself is flawed in many ways and if WOTC doesn't plan to ever fix it what is the point in giving money to not be able to use any of the content you are suppose to have access to?
Friend, in case you have not noticed, in the 2024 PHB, it states that Agonizing Blast may be applied to ANY warlock cantrip that causes damage. Irregardless of whether you think that is a bad idea or not, that is what the printed rules say and the DnD Beyond Character Builder is obliged to follow and obey the printed book. Otherwise, what is the purpose of having the Character Builder?
My point is: if I'm prioritizing bugs, that one's pretty low on the list.

So true, so true.......
Being able to apply my Charisma modifier to any warlock cantrip that deals damage, amplifies the appeal of the 2024 warlock. My current character, though, became tired of waiting for the WotC software team to rectify the situation and he took the eldritch invocation "Lessons of the Old Ones" and he grabbed another Origin feat. His origin feats are Lucky (courtesy of the Wayfarer background), Magic Initiate(Cleric) (courtesy of being Human) and Musician (courtesy of Lessons of the Old Ones).
As I have mentioned in other posts, I am a retired programmer / analyst. My software knowledge is limited to Fortran, COBOL, Algol and similar languages. Java is still a newfangled contraption to me. I try to be patient with my fellow grey hat hackers, but when the printed rules book says that something is possible, then the software ought to be patched to match the rules book, otherwise, what is the point of having the character builder!?
You guys are being unfair to DDB staff. They are just a small little $146.3 million subsidiary of WotC. Asking them to cater to their customer base is entirely unreasonable.

There have been many times when I would have liked to declare to my superiors that it was unreasonable to expect my software to conform to the desires of the user base, as well as to the dictates of the state governing boards, as well as to the dictates of the federal regulatory boards and to have all modifications completed by two weeks hence. Yeah, right.
At this point, since they're doing an engine rebuild, we can't assume things that require major hardcoding will be done at all until then. This is one of those things.
I'm still happily using this site and app despite the odd, "why no worky?" I have faith that one day, maybe in a few years, all those little nitpicky things will be fixed.

And........in a few years, we will be dealing with the 2034 PHB and the rule changes in it......will the discrepancies between the 2014 rules and the 2024 rules be resolved by then? Who knows?

For those paying attention to announcements, the system overhaul is meant to address everything at once. The current system is spaghetti-coded and uses hard-coded modifiers that are difficult to add to or modify, hence issues like Agonizing Blast being tied specifically to Eldritch Blast instead of being programmed then assigned to Eldritch Blast which would be able to be assigned elsewhere. The new system is supposed to be more flexible so they can add new content on the fly relatively easily.
It's planned for sometime this year; giving a more locked-down date wouldn't be great until they're sure.

I'm sure the counter to this will be "other fixes were promised, and they didn't happen fast enough/at all, so fix this now before I'm proven right that this is a lie/overpromising, WotC Satan"
Legit:What website/forum has instant fixes on-demand?

Legit: It all should have been correct upon release.

Again: Without a complete overhaul, this was literally impossible. And the Beyond team has zero control over the book release team.

You're going to get the response "It should have been overhauled before release"
It's not like other issues were happening in the year before 2024, no siree bob.

I just got back into D&D after 15 years and I was pressured into getting DND Beyond. Only to find the problem I'm having with Agonizing Blast is a problem other's have had for nearly TWO YEARS!!! The only solution appears to be is suck it up it'll never be fixed... What an absolute joke.

I am also a survivor of spaghetti code, hard code and other devilish delights.

They are CURRENTLY rebuilding the game engine to allow these things to be supported, because the original one written ten years ago is the spaghetti code problem.
They've known for years though that the rebuild was needed, and have neglected to do anything about it until about 6 months ago, and we still don't know how long its going to take. For all we know it'll never get finished and be abandoned like Sigil.
It's entirely reasonable for people to complain about DDB putting out a broken product. The rebuild should have been done for the 2024 releases at the latest, not still months away (at least) nearly two years later.

And it wasn't until they got a new VP of D&D and merged it into a franchise model, that all these changes started happening. "Shoulda, coulda, woulda" but the reality was that the old way Hasbro treated them wasn't going to provide enough slack to do this. It's happening now, and we can't change the past.
