The Featured Sources under the main Sources▼ dropdown menu has removed the Player's Handbook (2014) as a selectable option. This is annoying, as there are likely still millions of ongoing campaigns that are using and referencing the 2014 rules and have not converted over to the 2024 Rule Set yet. At the very least, there are likely far more players still using the 2014 Rules than are using Eberron: Rising from the Last War, Spelljammer: Adventures in Space, The Book of Many Things, Book of Ebon Tides (Kobold Press), or Grim Hollow: Player Pack (Ghostfire Gaming).
So please leave the 2014 Core Rule Books, Player's Handbook (2014), Dungeon Master's Guide (2014), and Monster Manual (2014) as selectable options on Featured Sources under the main Sources▼ dropdown menu as it adds the most value for the users of your service by limiting the amounts of clicks and scrolling they need to do to access the rule set they are currently playing with.
While you're right that a lot of people are still using those books, I do think it's worth pointing out that just bookmarking those books in your browser will reduce the number of clicks and scrolling you have to do to find them even more.
Please explain to me why the 2014 PH has disappeared from the drop down menu? I paid for it & the new trilogy(currently) of reference books, why are we removing the legacy spells. My campaigns have been in main 5E and may still continue to do so. However, you are literally forcing me to convert. One of my players cast a cure wounds (2nd level) today and healed 4d8 hit points plus his modifier!!! What the heck!!! Forcing me into this new version should not be the case. It worked fine with the legacy version. Heck, he doesn't even see the legacy version of the spells under the drop down manage spells list, and he has them checked under his character creation menu. Please put them back and leave them. Or give a check option to choose which version we are playing. WE PAID FOR IT, DON'T PUNISH US.

The 2014 Player's Handbook is no longer in the "Featured Sources" drop-down because it is no longer the latest version. It's still available in the full "All Sources" list and you can still bookmark it.
None of the legacy spells have been removed and no one is forcing you to do anything. All the 2014 content is still available; you just need to make sure the "2014 Rules" checkbox is checked on the Home tab of the character builder.
Thank you. I just figured that out and I was coming to make that note. However, when he created his character, he did select "Expanded Rules, 2014 Core Rules, Legacy". Prior to this weekend, he said when he managed his spells (War Cleric), he saw the spell listed twice, with "(Legacy)" listed after one of them to refer to the 2014 rules. He no longer sees it but other players in the campaign do. Any thoughts on that?

Is his character using the 2014 version of the Cleric class or the 2024 version?
I am looking at his character now. Under character subclass, in the drop down menu, it lists the Core domains which includes War. There is no Legacy version to select under that option.

To be clear, I'm not talking about the subclass, I'm talking about the class. This character likely has the 2024 version of the Cleric class, which means it will only have access to 2024 versions of spells that have been updated. If you (or the player) change it to the 2014 version of the Cleric class, then it will have access to all the 2014 spells.
D&D Beyond, I paid for a legendry Tier set and many other non included sources from the 2014 rules. I can no longer use these to select archetypes for my characters and frankly I paid for it, return it or provide a full refund.

Nothing has been removed. You've selected a 2024 class for a character without owning the 2024 Player's Handbook. Choose the 2014 version of the class instead and you'll have the stuff you paid for.
I think the better solution would be to allow the user to indicate which is their preferred source. I have both, but doubt I'll ever reference the 2014 versions of the core rules ever again, so they are taking up space. Someone else may have no use for the 2024 books. Give us a toggle to change which are the default rules site-wide (not just on the character builder, which doesn't do a DM much good).
I agree that I'd like the 2014 PHB back in the main menu for a little while; at least until the entire 2024 core rules were out would be nice. I know you want us to convert, and I've given you the money for hard and soft copies of the 2024 books; but accept that we might run one last campaign using the 2014 versions?
It would be great if, since I blocked the 2024 versions from campaign content sharing, players didn't even have access to the classes and species from them. I just had three out of six players accidentally use 2024 sources in their character creation, despite my doing my best to explain how to use the 2014 ones instead. That is a UI/UX failure.
I know resources are probably focused on the VTT, but making it easier to use pencil and paper than the digital tools can't be good for business. Please put some development focus on making campaign content sharing work as a user would expect.

There's no way to block any book from character creation. The most you can do is turn off access to the text, but character options are always available. This isn't just the updated books -- it's everything.
(And anyone who has the text, as everyone does with the free rules, can still read it.)

Or better yet, just put the books I own there.
You can still advertise new ones to me off to the side somewhere. But if I'm using that dropdown is because I want to look at a book I own.

That fixed it. He chose the class wrong. Thank you so much for helping me fix this.
No problem!

What do you mean you can no longer use what you paid for? Everything is still there and usable. I have access to everything I have paid for.
