I made a character using the DnD Beyond sheet and chose Druid, Ranger, Guide, then the only option for Aasimar was a Variant. In the 2024 rules there is Aasimar, not variant listed. I chose 2024 and 2014 core rules, expanded rules, but NO homebrew, Legacy, and No Partnered. How does the program give you choices? If I chose 2024 core rules as well as the 2014 and expansions, why did Aasimar not show up as a species choice as listed in the 2024 rules?
I have another character, a Monk, and I wanted Artisan background, but that was not listed. I used the same rules sets and got a subset of the backgrounds I see listed in the rules.
I had purchased both the 2024 and 2014 core rules in digital form.
Thanks.

Played original and 1e in college, then during the pandemic, picked up 5e, 2014 and now 2024 rules, DMG, MM. Have been gaming since the 60s, with a renewed interest in D&D, with all the choices for world building, adventures and character creation, both PCs and NPCs.
It sounds like you don't actually have access to the 2024 Player's Handbook, and you're only seeing options from the 2024 Free Rules along with some older stuff.
2024 core is listed, but I am not a paid subscriber........

It doesn't matter whether you're a subscriber; it matters whether you own the 2024 Player's Handbook. Did you purchase it?
If you didn't purchase it, then the only options you'll have from the 2024 rules are those that are in the Free Rules, which doesn't include the Aasimar species or the Artisan background. You have to actually own the Player's Handbook to use any of the options from it in the character builder.
I own the digital versions of 2024 and 2014 core rules and they are listed on that link you gave me.

Seems so......I'm thinking that if I forgot to log on, maybe it got funky?

Did you purchase the digital 2024 Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond? If you did, try going here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
And seeing if your entitlements are synced. If they're not, there's a button there to sync them manually, which should sort out the issue.
