When using the online character builder, and going to the character sheet, you can then choose to export a pdf of your character sheet. This is great, as, while I LOVE using the online builder, I hate managing my character online during sessions, and prefer to do that with a paper copy of my sheet. But there's an issue with the exported sheet, when it comes to the last page, for spells. Here's what you get (sorry for the messed up column widths, not sure how to edit those in the post, just pasted this from a spreadsheet):
Prep
Spell Name
Source
Save/Atk
Time
Range
Comp
Duration
Page Ref
Notes
O
Eldritch Blast
Warlock
+7
1A
120 ft.
V,S
Instantaneous
PHB 237
Count: 2, V/S
This has 2 major flaws, both of which come from the Notes column. First, it wastes space (and my insanely over-priced printer ink!) by including information such as the required types of components, the duration, and the Area of Effect/Range. All of those are already listed in their own column.
Second, it leaves out something quite significant. The damage of the spell and how that damage scales.
I think the data included in the Notes column could be reworked to make this sheet far more useful. As it is, I don't even print this sheet, and use my own from a spreadsheet.
