I am significantly disgruntled about the delay in the digital release of forge of the artificer. One of the best points about ordering a digital book is that it's independent of screw-ups on the physical product side. I shouldn't be penalized for deciding to buy a digital copy here and supporting my flgf by buying the physical copy whenever it comes out there. I find it very disappointing that this thing that was supposed to come out in August is being delayed till the end of November for no good reason.
I'm purchasing the bundle. Meaning I want the physical copy. I'm also an Australian, so we're at the end of the very long queue for getting anything, and we get kicked with all the delays first.
But I would fully support releasing the digital copies as scheduled and then receive the physical copy later. I do not want to just wait until even after Heroes of the Borderlands is released, to get access because the print copy is delayed.
Given the explanation about FLGS, I get why they delayed both together. Retracting my hot take mostly caused by the payment timings.
I agree. They even went so far as to specifically mention refunds, so they KNEW folks would be upset. I sorta get it, they want it to release simultaneously and all that, but delaying a digital product that is already finished knowing it will turn people away is a really odd choice.
That said, delaying the physical copies is 100% understandable and I applaud them for the transparency in that regard. I just wish is wasn't at the expense of the digital version.
They delayed the digital release so no one would complain like what happened with the Book of Many Things was released digitally first:People got conspiratorial & accused Hasbro of blatantly funneling people into said digital release.
Now the absolute VOID of any sign of preferential treatment is a problem, & is spawning conspiracies.
Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
Either way, P A N I K is the word of the day.

Thank you for the insight. I was not particularly interested in that release and did not know that is what happened.
Obviously enough, I am biased towards this release and not happy it got delayed. Oh well. Not like a few people complaining on the forums will change that anyway.
So no matter what wizards does, they're going to get people claiming that there's conspiracy stuff going on. So the best result is to do the right thing and ignore the potential of people saying this conspiracy stuff going on. And thus they should publish stuff when they can publish it and not try to make cranks happy by delaying their digital publication
Just want to jump on the bandwagon to voice how disappointed I am that the product I paid for with a listed release date, which is available and ready for release, is going to be held back for months because of another product I didn't purchase.
I totally agree I was planning a game to begin with the new book coming out, now I have to go to my players and be like.. "well guys either we wait 3 months for a digital product that could be out right now or we play with the old version of the Eberron book and you'll just have to deal with updating your character when that comes out, or we just wait those 3 months. Oh what's that 3 of you want to play Khorivar and 2024 doesn't have rules for half-elves at all? and one of you wants to play an artificer? welp... guess you're just a 2014 character then..."
There is zero reason why they can't release the digital product early especially since they have explained the reason for the delay.
