So I bought the book under the main assumption that gnolls were going finally have an official species option instead of having to rely on homebrew anymore. There is even a screenshot on the page for the book that says "Bring your Artificer to life with the DND Beyond Character builder" featuring a line-up of various male and female species, standing side by side, with the gnolls included.
I don't think it was an unfair assumption to assume these would be 3 of the 5 "revised species" listed on the extremely vague listing of details for the book. And I have had this issue in the past with DND Beyond and the book descriptions being extremely vague to the point of basically being totally ******* useless on telling you what you're actually getting when you purchase the book.
This is exactly the kind of shit that people lose trust over DND and Wizards of the Coast over. You guys know whats in the book, so tell your customers whats in the ******* book. Because of this I'm no longer bothering to preorder any books on this website because I'm tired of feeling ripped off and disappointed that you can't do something so basic as listing out whats included with your purchase.
There was a front page article four months ago covering the 5 revised species in depth and the marketplace listing explicitly says "5 revised species", revised being the operative word. Given gnolls have never been an official species in 5th edition, they can't be a revised species. The image you're referencing doesn't mention anything about playing as any of the species depicted either.
I don't think this is the advertisements being misleading, let alone exceedingly so.
Afternoon yall!
