I have been experiencing issues where the dice are invisible and the results don't show up in the log. My group can see the dice rolled but they don't get the results either.
I appreciate all the hard work to give us the new dice features, but I agree that the new dice take up too much of the screen, get cocked more often as a result, and stay on the screen way too long. I am sure you guys can resolve these issues, but just wanted to let you know. Thanks for all your hard work!
The performance issues have been resolved, but what bothers me most about the new dice is that they stay on the screen for too long. Every time I roll, I think to myself, "Can you just leave already?"

In the old version if you clicked on them they'd go away early. If they could bring that back, I wouldn't really care much how long they stayed on their own.
It’s not good. Overly large dice with no option to change size. Compounding this issue is that the die stay on screen too long. And if you roll more than one roll like in character creation it blocks the majority of the screen and bulks up with each roll unless you wait for every roll to disappear
Dice rolling has been kind of mess since this change. Some people don't even get their own results but others see them. There needs to be a setting to let you see your own dice roll on your own character sheet but not see everyone's rolls too. Any time the GM asks all the players to roll something like perception, we don't get the opportunity to even see our own results with the cascade of dice popping up, loudly. I get that they want to make this feel more like being together at a table top, but if your own dice roll doesn't linger for you then it is more an annoyance than a help.
Who really thought the dice roller needed updating?
Seriously point the finger on this one guys.
Lots of people were complaining that the VTT didn't show dice rolling across the screen. Point the finger at players.
Not sure which VTT you're talking about, we use FoundryVTT and Beyond20 extension in browsers, dice display on screen just fine. Or at least they did, until they updated the dice roller and mucked everything up. Now we've had to disable the extensions, and I need yet another window open to watch the gamelog in order to see the players' dice rolls (i'm the DM). Meanwhile the players have the annoyance of having everyone else's die rolls interfere with their own ability to roll whenever I ask for a group roll (and those on lower powered devices like laptops run into performance issues from all the dice their laptops now need to display on screen).
I do see that the options for who can see the roll are now syncing between the custom roller and the individual rollable buttons (though the latter still says "Self" while the former says "DM" and I have no idea which is correct). That's mostly fine.

Playing D&D since 1982
Have played every version of the game since Basic (original Red Box Set), except that abomination sometimes called 4e.
Have you checked it lately with the updates today? It's gotten a lot better.
Better in what way(s)?

New options. And they will be implementing a small dice size soon I believe. There was a reddit post about it in response to our feedback btw.

BTW if you are the DM of the campaign (or more specifically the campaign owner), you will always see "self" instead of "DM".

That’s definitely not what I’m seeing, but this whole thing’s a bit of a mess still, so who knows.
