Changing from hover to click really was the best change here. That interfered with me far too often.
Also, one thing being presented as a bug that I'd like to see made into a feature, personally (maybe we can get a setting to activate this?) is: I don't want anything in my top 6 favorites to show up under Recent. I already put it in the menu as always-accessible, I don't need to see the same book twice in the same bar.
If we could get the option to make the layout exclude those six at all times, that would be amazing.
On mobile i like the changes. The Menu Bar feels a little less clunky. On desktop it feels different and probably takes some time to get used to the new design and layout.
My suggestions would be:
Swap Favorite and Recently Opened. And maybe an option to not show Recently Opened at all. Perhaps that could leave more room to show more Favorited books.
Under Community, there is no icon/link for the BlueSky account.
The "Hi' message seems a bit silly.
Give Homebrew a bigger icon.
On some parts of the website, when you scroll down the menu bar also moves up and out of sight. Why not let it stay on the screen so you don't have to scroll all the way back up again when you want to access another part of the website? (on mobile it seems to stick at least, so that's nice).

I'd like to take this idea a step further: Let the menu bar disappear when you scroll down, but any amount of scrolling up makes it reappear. Firefox Mobile does this and it's really useful, both keeping the bar out of the way and keeping it in reach at all times.
There's literally 2 (TWO) SUBSCRIBE buttons on the same row, linking to the same subscription page. TWO ! I'm sorry but that's just so stupid 😂.
Whoever made that has issues. Also, for whatever reason the Character menu panels are crowded onto each others : Screenshot of my Character menu panels I'm on PC, navigation page zoom on 90%. Didn't change anything tempering with that. Also the website is much slower.
I don't know what they tried to fix, but I do know they made a lot of things much worse.
First time posting here but i came here because the new design makes me want to rage, pun intended.
A: its visually cluttered making it seem messy. visually making it harder to see the thing you are looking for.
B: The mono chromatic nature of so many elements being that dark grey again makes thing visually unorganised and for people with poorer quality sight this issue just compounds. Also having everything being in similar tones makes it harder to differenciate between what is being shown. for example the explore more and the partnered creators sections on the main page bleed together, if you are just scrolling past you dont really have anything to tell you that you are at a different section of information.
C: The fact that the menus dont automatically drop like they used to puts things behind an unnecessary click, making the redesign less efficient.
D: Back at the whole making the readability of the website trash again angle the fact that options like Classes, Spells, Monsters ect not having a accompanying image, makes visually finding those elements harder.
E: Under Rules, id argue that the majority of people looking there are after Classes, Spells ect not the how to play resources. The Classes, Spells ect should be the column directly under the Rules drop down and the how to play should be on the left, simple efficiency.
F: The Play DND tab just seems to be the miscellaneous draw, this needs to be worded better because in what world would i assume my My Dice settings are under that heading, same with Homebrew content. Call it My DnD - my character - my dice - my homebrew, easy.
G: BRING BACK THE LITTLE FLASHING WIZARD! i miss him
Changing from hover to click really was the best change here. That interfered with me far too often.
This I think is something divided by device type and use scenario. I use a good mouse with a scroll wheel and so have never had hover menus interfere. For that reason I personally prefer a hover menu.
However, if using a laptop with a trackpad, yeah, hover menus can certainly be problematic. On mobile devices they can make a site almost unusable.
Looking beyond oneself I think it's the one thing that while I don't personally like, I think really does come down to how you use your device. At least that's my read on the matter.

A: Visual clutter? There is less text and information on the top bar, and even less on the dropdowns. The library page used to list like 50+ items, not it lists 6? The rules section used to have giant visuals for 3 of the 8 options, making finding anything but those three a pain.
B: How is monochrome "visually unorganized." I'll agree I think a straight Black/white split would have been easier to read, but I do not think that it would look great. Colors would be worse. The front page either has a massive background behind a section or a solid color, making every section very different and I can easily tell when I have scrolled to a new section. Plus the title in the center helps.
C: The number of times I lost a menu, or ended up going to an unintended page because of those hover menus is countless. Sure now I need to reprogram the click, but that is MORE efficient than constant accidents.
D:Again see that one 3 of the 8 things in the old section had images, making the other sections, the sections I as a DM needed more often harderto find. I won't say it is easier in the new set up, but now I am not eyes drawn to the image and then going "wait where are the other sections"
E: I'd argue that new people are absolutely looking for how to play resources under the "rules" tab. Plus the needed resources are listed on the left, making them priority in peoples eytte search. When I look at a menu open up, my eyes go to the left, not to the center.
F: That tab is literally all the things you would use to, achem, play D&D on this website....
A: What i should have said is visually difficult to read or make out elements, everything kinda bleeds together with little separation.
B: Personally disagree regarding colour. Im not asking for hot pink, but some toned down colours, borders, background image or texture would improve readability. They seem to be going for more simplistic or minimalistic design but the problem with that is it impacts legibility.
C: Again personally disagree i've never had that issue ever.
D: I can see your point in this. However i dont think the current version is the solution. There needs to be a visual break up of those sections. The reason companies use logos and we use imagery on signage is because our brains recognise imagery much much faster than words. Also you have people that are dyslexic, having just a word is not the answer.
E & F: This is interesting to me because it shows the problem the website designers have, in that everyone is different and making a website that is great for everyone is impossible. Im my experience when people need to know the rules they just google it not look in that tab. My eyes are drawn to the centre first. The Play D&D tab - thats not the way i naturally thought about that tab. When i read Play D&D, i automatically assumed it was targeted towards beginners looking for a place to start or intro rules, a jumping in point. If there isnt total clarity in whats in that tab (and maybe im just blonde) then the name isnt working.
I must admit its very fascinating to read other people perspectives as they are all so different, again highlighting the challenge the designers have. Honestly if they just made things easier to read and break up all the grey and just lists of words with some colours, borders ect - the rest i could live with.

G: Can't agree more!
New thing I like—after someone suggested it on Reddit, they added a link to the Rules Glossary under the rules drop down.
Also I like that Unearthed Arcana is there rather than being grouped under sources in Library
