I really don't know why dndbeyond got rid of the option to randomly create a character, as a DM I use it all the time to create strange characters and bosses for my players to fight. I also had my players during one-shots use it to create their characters to broaden their choices and get them out of there comfort zones.
It let me choose a number of character levels and then put together a worling ready to use character without having to spend time choosing options or spells, it was so helpful.
Quick build only works for a single level 1 character and it doesn't even automatically choose the options abilities or spells, but if I want it to build me say a 6th level character with 3 levels in rogue and 3 levels in warlock that randomly chooses the subclasses for both and pre selects its proficiencies and all of the warlocks spells well that feature is gone now!!
Look I'm just pissed they got rid of something that worked, had no reason to get rid of it, and the new thing they added is worse.
I will not be paying for Master Tier again with developers who just remove perfectly good features from their site.

The old random character was notorious for generating very poorly put together characters, so calling it a "perfectly good feature" is really overselling it.
Removing a not-fit-for-purpose feature seems reasonsable
I very much disagree, a "very poorly put together characters" is subjective, in the case of randomization it worked perfectly, easy and quick ready to go characters that had choices and combinations you wouldn't normally see, it was perfect in the sense because it didn't pick things that were meta or over used, it was what it was named, Random.
You can still do it through quick build. Each option has a random button
Kinda
Quick build is currently only for level 1
Worse, its no different then assigning numbers to a die and rolling the class race and background for a level 1 character.
It doesn't even choose the options or pre-select spells. If it created higher level characters and made a ready to play character then I wouldn't be as angry.

Please bring it back.
