So, I work in IT and 90% of my time is spent on code that is 130 characters long. I have 3 big 32" screens in Portrait. So this is what happens when your character sheet viewer comes up.
I know you already don't pay attention to those of us using Portrait orientation screens for Character Sheets, but could you move the button a bit closer to where the action is...
Your window is so narrow it's in mobile display mode, where that button is usually conveniently placed. I don't know enough about reactive design to know whether it's even possible for them to differentiate between phone/tablet and computer with narrow window.

The escape key will also close it.
