What is a dead name? What is wrong with JK Rowling? she has all of those harry potter characters. If hasbro gets to license the harry potter stuff, how is that a bad thing?
Character77006 assuming your post is in good faith, "deadnaming" is when a trans individual is called by their "assigned at birth" name, instead of their current name.
Like calling The Umbrella Academy's Elliot Page by their former name.
JK Rowling is famously transphobic.
Hasbro is not attempting to license Harry Potter for D&D (that we know of). There's already Strixhaven for that.

I still don't understand what you mean. What is an assigned at birth name? Is that the name ones' parents give them?

What is The Umbrella Academy? Who is Elliot Page? Never heard of him.

Thanks for letting me know that, still her political views has nothing to do with the Harry Potter stories she wrote.

Yes. The name you were assigned at birth. Trans people often (though not always) change their name when they transition, and it is offensive and hurtful to intentionally refer to them by their prior name.

It is basically impossible to separate them at this point, but remember that you're the one who brought up Harry Potter.
I would respectfully suggest that you make some effort educate yourself on what a thread is about before jumping in, rather than derailing it by asking other people to explain it to you.

They work at WotC. Lying about in in their bio & posts for this long for this often would be ad absurdum.

I would have no idea how to educate myself. Isn't that what these forums are all about, learning? I am not trying to derail anything. But this thread just doesn't make any sense. Sorry I was trying to understand. I will ignore it then.

Sure they work at WOTC but they support the Union, so they have a goal of discrediting the company they work for to make the Union a success. Ergo them posting "WOTC did X" is not a truth, it is their truth. So without actual evidence I have no stance on this. They say a list of people's deadnames was release, yet do even attempt to show the email or the paper that said list is on.

WotC, Hasbro, Fisher-Phillips, IDC.
This is unacceptable.
You NEVER force deadnames EVER.
Chris Cocks is killing Hasbro by allying w/JK Rowling & deadnaming trans & enby union members using legal documents as an excuse.
NOW we unsub, stop buying, & protest until this is reversed completely.

Don't worry about it. That was just an example of a famous trans person who changed his name when he transitioned.
