I would like to use the D&D Beyond VTT for a Play-by-Post game. Being PbP I need for the system to allow players to log into the game 24/7 when it is their turn to act. As the game is asynchronous one combat round can take a week (or more) of real time to resolve. Currently, my understanding is the VTT turns off 6 hours after the DM starts it up and the DM has to restart it. Are there any plans to support PbP asynchronous games by keeping the VTT active 24/7 after the DM starts it for the campaign? Other VTT systems handle this so I know it is technically possible.
I have asked the same question on the Discord server. Waiting on some feedback.
What I proposed as a possible solution is that if Any Player logs into the game session on Maps VTT then it "reboots" the map, allowing that player to then see the map and move their token, etc. It doesn't need to keep the game alive for very long for players to log in take a go and log out again. So this could reduce the drag on the server back end.
Really hoping they can do something like this as I would love to be able to run my PbP games using Maps.
