I love DnDBeyond but I am continually disappointed by the search feature. Why does a search for "strahd" result in a "it looks like we failed out investigation check"? This is repeatable and a very bad user experience. A search for Strahd should find multiple options, especially for those who own the Curse of Strahd content. Many other common searches provide similar results. To make searchability useful and reputable (particularly in game time), I suggest thinking like a DM running a campaign in real time. What would they want to know, immediately? As an example, everything in the new DMG's Index should be searchable by the same values. If it's valuable there, it's likely valuable online.
I will second this. Searching the word 'Faction' resulted in a failed investigation. 'Factions' pulled up one result discussing the two factions of Gith. Given the multiple recent releases that discuss various factions (Heroes of Faerun, Arcana Unleashed) I was hoping I could search them out in one place. I know there was discussion in the Roadmap of making the search function, well, functional. Search seems to be more limited now that it was a few weeks ago. Can we get an update?
Good news! The roadmap video a couple weeks ago included a section on updates to Search that are in the pipe. Check the video out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxBFtl3c0bk and skip to around 8 minutes to learn about the updates to Search.
This is good news. Will the content in the DMG Index be included in the update? It is well thought out and it would be great to see that level of quality in the online search tool.
