I have a question. Why is there a repeat of all the same information when you click the "view details" button for each monster entry? It appears that the subsequent page simply repeats the same information as what is given on the first page. The only purpose I can come up with for why you did this is that maybe clicking on that button creates a printer friendly version of the same info? If that is the case then wouldn't it be better to label that button as "printable page" instead of "view details?" Also, I love (LOVE!) the ability to click on the image for the view details page to get a zoomed in image of the creature you can show your players with all the stats blurred out. However, wouldn't it be better to offer that feature on the monster entry page instead? So you can do the same thing by clicking on the little thumbnail picture given for each monster on the list? That way (as a DM looking to show a picture of a monster to his players) I can simply find it on the list and click the thumbnail to show them the picture instead of going through the current three-step process of expanding the monster listing and then clicking on the "view details" button and then waiting for that page to load before I can click on the image of that page to show it to my players.

For a quick reply, two main reasons there is a details page:
1.) For SEO purposes
2.) We have plans for additional data/features on the details pages, that would not be in the expandable section in the listing, which you haven't seen yet ;)
And we were already discussing today light-boxing the monster image from the thumbnail in the listing. Don't have a definite answer on that one yet, but we are looking at it.
I do see one other use for having a "view details" page but it appears to be different than how you are currently using it. How about you click on the "view details" page to get all the flavor text of a monster that has nothing to do with its stat block? For example: clicking on the "view details" button for the Aboleth entry would provide all its flavor text that is currently left out ((page 14 of the Monster Manual where it reads "Before the coming of the gods, aboleths lurked in primordial oceans and underground lakes. They reached out...blah blah blah). Maybe in this case, though, you might want to label such a button as "flavor text" instead?
The View Details button goes into a page with its own unique url - https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/aboleth for the aboleth, for example. This also allows people to have a link specifically to that monster without the clutter of the others, especially useful if referencing it somewhere beyond the DDB site.
Also, though not an exact solution, you can skip one of your current steps - rather than expand the monster and scroll down to then click 'view details', you can just click on that monster's name before expanding it to go directly to its full page.
I really like your idea of clicking its thumbnail 'avatar' in the list view and getting to see the enlarged picture.
You can now light-box a monster or magic item image from the thumbnail in the listing, IF that particular element isn't using a place-holder image. Hope this helps!
Oh, nice with the art boxes. I like how you can get the bigger picture whether you click on the thumbnail or the pic on the details page to have a larger version. Question, if a DM wants to print the picture out, is there an easy way to do that to show their players what they see. Being able to print the image out as a token to use on a tabletop grid would be great too. Or for the digital people allowing them to use a token in a place like Roll20 or other system used to host the game. Though not sure what extent you can do this digital sharing since there may be copyright on some of these, too. =)
I also like that there is a details page even if not always much more than what you see by expanding it in the list for the very purpose of being able to share the link to it with others who have access to it. The fun part in live will be that some things are locked behind a level of access so the link will be blocked to anyone without an account allowing them there.
Overall, I like where this is going and why it is setup as it is.
