The current sharable links in character sheets to not contain the protocol (http:// or https://) which is kind of annoying to have to add back in and make them not be recognized by certain apps as links when trying to copy them out on mobile. There doesn't seem to be any good reason to have truncated this part of the link off, and it'd be a large QoL improvement to have the links be complete.
Dunno what you're doing to make the links not work. Every modern browser and most applications will recognise it as an URL with or without the protocols.
The difference is that appending the hypertext protocol will usually flag the string in most text input systems as a link. As you've demonstrated with the above post, this was not presented as desired (an embedded link).
Click to copy doesn’t work for me on the iPad, I’ll point out. And when I manually copied and pasted the link into a PBP signup, the forum appended the forum URL to the link, breaking it.

This isn't a problem if you click "click to copy." It has the https part.

Honestly, it wasn't obvious that you had to click the words "click to copy" as they don't appear as a link or button of any kind.
