What do you mean by 'printer friendly'? You can open any map in a new window and print it out, either at page size or in segments that you can glue together. That's what I've done.
A good tutorial for printing maps to scale can be found here. The basic idea is that you chop the map up into A4 pieces, print them out and glue them together.

Dave, the other night I tried to print the hex map of ToA and only the left side showed up in the print preview
