I am curious to see how UA material will work as it becomes official/ published. I wonder if we will lose access to it via UA or if it will remain in both locations. Especially with the new guide coming out later this year.
Published content will come at a cost to unlock, as it is licensed through WotC. This allows the published content to be included in the digital toolset, keeping all information available here as a centralized location.
@Delboy, please bear with us, as current resolutions are in progress to rectify the issue you're experiencing. Character access rights should return shortly.
If following the fact that published content will need to be paid for (either transaction or subscription). I'm just thinking as an example:
if I start a campaign and have a player rolling a mystic. Then WOTC releases the Mystic in a new book. I'm worried my player will lose access to his class content unless they or the DM buy the new book.

Maybe im just way overthinking this.
You may be, perhaps. If a sheet is created and a character playing, the data will not become unavailable by circumstance or release. Published content means that additional data is added to the site, from what is currently available - which is of cost. On the flipside, copyright homebrew won't make it into a 'Published' state to be 'lost' down the road. However, you are free to keep any private creations you see fit, accessible to you and your campaign without interference.
Let the night's craziness unfold a little and things will clear up a bit in the weeks to come.
I'm getting a 403 error anytime I try to open the character builder, is there anyone who can help me out?
Windows 10, google chrome, admin
Nope... You just have to wait until they fix all these problems.
Gotta love launch day!
I mean it is a beta after all haha.
Yeah, but how are we supposed to even test Beta when NOTHING WORKS... When nothing works, it kind of defeats the purpose of an open beta.
Fortunately, there will be ample time for testing, as the beta will not end tonight. Issues will be fixed, the tools will be working, players will be testing. Thus the purpose of an open beta - restored. Please bear with us.
I get a 403 when I try to make a new character, but I made a campaign and a magic item.
When making the magic item, the modifiers that I add have no way to change the boolean for "Requires Attunement" anywhere, but it shows up after I save the modifier as false, even if the item is set to require attunement. However, this detail doesn't appear to be visible after I save the whole item.
