Yea, with this only having SRD content, I can't really use this at the table yet or try it out. At least not well enough to give meaningful feedback on how well it works. If I have to keep leaving the app to reference my actual books, that's not going to make a very good impression on the app. My first impressions of using it at the table are going to heavily flavor my decision to continue using it, so I guess I better wait until they have all the content in here so I can get the real experience.
If this is going to not include all of the information from the supplemental books (Sword Coast and Volo's Guide) than it is not very useful. Also if that stuff is going to be added but behind a pay wall than this won't be something I'll use. I can easily use something like Lion's Dens Game Master app on my Ipad and access all the information from every book once I upload it into the app (something that is not that hard to do). If this becomes another thing to pay for (when I'm already buying the books) than it's not going to be that useful. Being able to sort monsters, spells and items is a very nice feature, but also not a unique one (DonJon has all of these tools already). The look and presentation of everything is very nice though and if it does stay free and include everything I can see myself using it.
I can't see any point in having this app/site if it will only contain SRD material.
The SRD stuff is only for the beta testing. Expect more content once the official release comes out. It also says on the front page Phase 3 will include homebrew support, and campaign management. So those are some things to look forward to.
Homebrew support is very different from what we're talking about, unless you want to re-write everything from Volo's, etc. into a "homebrew", lol.
Do you have a source for saying the beta is going to be SRD-only, but the release will contain more? Or is that just an assumption? Because remember, this is Wizards we're talking about here. Never mind, I found it.
I wasn't playing during 4e, what was the fee for that? Personally I would rather a larger up front cost, but I do doubt WOTC would do that also subscription services are kind of the thing right now (which is sort of why I don't want it like that since I already have several of those).
You can by looking at the advanced filters

I'm fine with a subscription to access all the content, like how 4e worked. That was super helpful, and the fee was reasonable.
But it does need to have that content, otherwise no one will bother with this app.
