I know this site needs to make money....somehow. It's a nice online tool for beginners in DnD (such as myself) however. I want to say this as a genuine statement of just...I want to say frustration? Yet....I don't know how I feel.
There needs to NEEDS TO be a way to access the "Everything else" that DnD has to offer without shilling like a good few 100 something dollars just to get the full list of content that should have been available for someone making a character. You know, to get the highest potential out of that character by being able to access the full list of spells that character should be able to access if you're making a spellcaster. Or allow for players to actually use every archetype of the class they choose instead of funneling them down to the barebone basic.

I'll roll to see how fun this is. Oh look at that. Natural 20
The stuff they provide for free is what WotC allows to be distributed for free. Even if they wanted to give all the content away, they legally cannot. They have no say in what is free. The things WotC allowed to be free are the Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Players Companion, and the System Reference Document. What you have is more of a WotC complaint than a DDB complaint, as the former controls all that, and DDB is an independent company.
You can buy just the player options out of the books for less than the book's cost (though PHB and XGtE have so many options, that it is actually cheaper to buy the whole book with a coupon than to just pick the options).
DDB sells everything as cheaply as they are allowed by WotC.
It really doesn't need to be said because the issue has been discussed at length. The dead horse has thoroughly been flogged. You need to pay for things, D&D Beyond content is no exception.
