My husband and I play D&D together in several campaigns. One uses D&D Beyond for the campaign, the others do not, but we like using the character builder to simplify and streamline the process so that we don't feel the need to type in all of the feats/etc. on our character sheets. (And yes, we type... easier to read that way!)
We own the physical copies of all the books, but we don't mind having to pay for the two that are most useful in character creation. With that in mind, Hubby just bought PHB and XGtE on his account, and it wasn't until after the purchase that it occurred to us that we are on two separate accounts, and his access to them would not transfer to me.
My question is, is there a way for us to share those books? I think it'd be ridiculous to have to pay another $60 for me to have access when we can literally reach out and touch each other from our computer chairs.
This may not be helpful to you, but content sharing exists if you have a master tier subscription. He can create a campaign and add you to it, turn on content sharing in that campaign, and you can access the books for any character you create in the campaign.
I do think that it would be nice to have a general "family sharing" where you can add a certain number of people regardless of campaign. I mean, that's how most Android apps work now. I buy the app, and it's automatically available free to my wife. It makes even more sense to do that with this kind of content. I wouldn't even mind paying a minor extra subscription fee for it.

I have heard them mention on streams that they are considering different sharing options, but nothing officially planned in that regard.
