I don't mind having it as an option in character creation. Just please let me include/exclude it when I want to, like Critical Role, Eberron or MtG content. It just bloats the spell/item lists when I'm not playing in an Acquisitions Incorporated themed campaign.
The planned content management update will allow this.
This does raise a question in my mind though: is acquisitions incorporated official forgotten realms content? If not, then a toggle should be added as well.
"The planned content management update will allow this."
Any info on when that will be implemented? Couldn't find anything.
A toggle should be added even if it is ruled official Forgotten Realm material.
Don't get me wrong, I love the new book but Acquisitions Incorporated has a certain style and flair to its items, spells, etc. that often just don't fit into a typical campaign.
"Any apprentice wizard can cast a boring old magic missile. Sure, it always strikes its target. Yawn. Do away with the drudgery of your grandfather’s magic with this improved version of the spell, as used by Jim Darkmagic!
You create three twisting, whistling, hypoallergenic, gluten-free darts of magical force. Each dart targets a creature of your choice that you can see within range. Make a ranged spell attack for each missile. On a hit, a missile deals 2d4 force damage to its target."
A toggle would just give us the option of not including it, like they did with Eberron or MtG content. Giving players or DMs an additional option is pretty much always a positive thing and I personally can't see a single drawback of a simple toggle at the beginning of character creation.

Example: Jims Magic Missle

In the last update, Adam previewed a mock up that had book-by-book toggling. So no more categorised toggling; it'll be source by source.
